To many of us KUDURO became a familiar byword for cutting edge African dance music with the arrival of BURAKA SOM SISTEMA.
However, it’s arguable that the Western GODFATHER of it all is the GREAT French DJ/Producer FREDERIC GALLIANO.
Indeed the first time I’d ever heard the word KUDURO some years ago…the name FREDERIC GALLIANO closely followed behind.

This is something to really look forward to. It’s going to be in the format of a DJ MIX and will contain brand new cuts of KUDURO in the FG KUDURO SOUND SYSTEM stylee…

Check the hihats on this cut by FOFANDO, totally f-ed up idm shit going on in there! combine that with a minimal synth stab and some vocodered vocals and you got something very special!
Damn, this guys productions always feature mad shit man.. I posted one a while back with aggro barking dogs, this is one with baby sounds, vocoders and something falling. Check this out, NEXT LEVEL KUDURO!
This track is awesome, fire in the lyrical delivery, distorted vocals, banging beats, ratteling percussion and all this also bordering on distortion. This is how I like my KUDURO!
This cut by BURAKA just got remixed by House producer that lives in PORTUGAL and he makes it sound even less like KUDURO. Somehow this got shared by KUDUROPODFILES though… Anyways I wanted to share this because the developments concerning original, remix and copy, as well as influences on scenes are something that always interest me. but it’s a bit weak. here ya go!
The slowed down version of KUDURO keeps popping up, most of the stuff is to sauve for me, but sometimes there’s a little gem, like this strange track by DJ MARCELO. Weird vocal treatment gives it a very dubbed out feel over an almost house beat. check it:
