GENERATION GHETTOBASSQUAKE MAKES IT TO FAIRTILIZER DOWNLOAD OF THE WEEK!

Yes, homies what started out as a little sweetener to my main & official GENERATION BASS MIX has made it not only to No. 1 on the Fairtilizer Chart, (albeit, just for a few days….haa.haaa…) BUT also DOWNLOAD OF THE WEEK!!!!!

HONESTLY, I was not expecting that, so it was a nice and much unexpected surprise.

FREDERIC GALLIANO….THE GODFATHER OF KUDURO IN THE WEST?

To many of us KUDURO became a familiar byword for cutting edge African dance music with the arrival of BURAKA SOM SISTEMA.

However, it’s arguable that the Western GODFATHER of it all is the GREAT French DJ/Producer FREDERIC GALLIANO.

Indeed the first time I’d ever heard the word KUDURO some years ago…the name FREDERIC GALLIANO closely followed behind.

THE FREDERIC GALLIANO KUDURO SOUND SYSTEM (check out their own blog) has a new album dropping in July on the EMI label…KUDURO GOES MAJOR!!!!!

This is something to really look forward to.  It’s going to be  in the format of  a DJ MIX and will contain brand new cuts of KUDURO in the FG KUDURO SOUND SYSTEM stylee…

MISS BLITZ BLITZES IT AGAIN!

We did a little post last week on MISS BLITZ and presented a mash up she did called JUF vs Miss Blitz vs Brodinski which is a mash up of Tamir Muskat from Balkan Beat Box and Eugene Hutz from Gogol Bordello.

That perked some interest from you lot and so we thought we’d give you a bit more from Miss Blitz.

Miss Blitz is a DJ and freelance journalist from Berlin, running a monthly radioshow called Blitzbeats on the Berlin radio station Sonett77, in which she explores genre clashing sounds from all around the globe.

She currently runs a blog called www.heartinmigration.com, where she writes about Global Electronic music, researches samples in different songs, and publishes interviews of underground artists.

She loves to explore different musical styles, the rough sounds from basements and streets as well as fast electronic beats. And: She loves to prove that different styles can all be blended together. Her sets are a big bold fusion of Latin, Dubstep, BaileFunk, Balkan, Bass, Techno and Punk. A mix between Past and Future, East and West, Roots and Beats.
