LAZY FLOW is another very innovative dance Producer/DJ from France!
This guy just dropped an awesome mix on Fairtilizer, one of the most interesting I’ve heard on there recently, incorporating sexy Tropical beats, Balkan & Klezmer bangers, Swing & African sweeties and Electro flava’s all souped up in a GHETTO HOUSE STYLEE……I LIKEEEY
Here’s a crazy mix of Cumbia, Electro, Baile Funk and all things Tropical by our homie JUAN DATA.
It’s not a conventional mix where you have 2/3 tracks playing on top of each other or just 2 tracks butted end to end as in most mixes. Juan goes a step further and does the following with his mixes:
“Now for all you DJ’s and turntablism connoiseurs wondering how Linyerismo was recorded let me tell you that the equipment used was a Macbook with Torq Connective, a Technics 1200MK2 turntable, a Denon two channel mixer and a Trigger Finger by M-Audio. Even though it might seem at times that it was edited in a loop sequencing software like Garage Band or Ableton Live, all the mixes were recorded in real time, with two channels only. Of course, it was recorded in ten million takes, so every time you hear more than two tracks playing at once (which is almost constantly) it means that I mixed two songs first, recorded it, then played it again and added a third one on top, and so on. That’s why it took me so long. And that’s also why there’s little bits where I come in slightly out of tempo”.
Well, I do know that dj’s like Joris Voorn are employing similar mixing techniques, as he did with his critically acclaimed ”BALANCE’ mix. It’s one possibility for ‘some’ of where the future is heading insofar as mix-tapes are concerned BUT maybe not for many others………a bit like the VINYL v CD v LAPTOP argument.
Anyway, it’s an action packed mix containing over 50 tracks loaded into 32 minutes and I REALLY ENJOYED IT
This is one of the best cuts i’ve heard in a long time, bumped into it on the excellent HEATWAVE blog. This is DONAEO, riding a riddim by SUGES. Also check the remix with Princess. Great vocal delivery and truly great beat. Love the strings that wonder in now and again. MASSIVE!
