Damn, any female mc that looks like this can just burp in a mic as far as i’m concerned and I’d still love it… Check out the lovely STELLA MWANGI, from KENIA all the way to NORWAY- she’s not only hot, but also a really gifted MC!
her bio has a lot of high rankin stuff in it, performing for NELSON MANDELA, working on best album of the year from SENEGAL and all that, but we only listen to the tunes. And the tunes are damn good! Check out this answer track to J-SON’s PRETTY BOY. Backed with J-SON’s sturdy beats you can hear the great vocal delivery, check this man:

Fuckin 21 years young man, that shit aint even funny… Next big thing DOLLA got into a fight with some dude on the plane and got shot outside a fucking mall. Dude dropped like 2 singles and his album was ready to be released. Guess that will be either shelved or capitalised on. Both are equally bad. Here’s my version of his single WHO THE FUCK IS THAT, this one 4 DOLLA!

I got love for MOBB DEEP man, eventhough not all their albums are equally dope, these guys dropped some great shit and will hopefully continue to do so… This is the DJ SLINK remix of their classic SHOOK ONES prt 2. Turning it into a synthpop banger actually works very well. Check it:

Here’s a little mix that I -thats DJ UMB homies! – put together a few months back consisting entirely of mash ups by various producers. I had to do a fair bit of crate diggin’ to find and collate a lot of these mash-ups but here they are for you to enjoy.
The theme of the mix is the clash between Traditional/Fusion music from around the world mashed with contemporary Hip-Hop, Pop and other mainstream artists AND at times with hilarious consequences i.e. The Chieftains mashed with NWA!
Just would like to stress that with a lot of my own personal mixes, unless it’s for a commercial release, a majority are improvised, 1-cut and first take recordings done on my trusty Pioneer CDJs 🙂

ADDIQUIT has been described as “San Diego’s answer to M.I.A” but I think that’s an unfair assessment of this Gal’s raw talent as she is in a world of her own.
“Bethany” as she is known to her friends, is someone I’ve been following and in touch with since early 2008 and I have watched her progress and nurture her sound, aided and abetted by MACHINEDRUM.
In fact I included one of her tracks ‘KILLA’, which she kindly sent to me, in my Live BBC Mix (which you can DWLD) last November 2008.
Here’s what the PRESS are saying about her:
“Her flow wraps itself around in-your-face electro beats like a tease…the girl unleashes some seriously tight syntax that sounds entirely unscripted.”
“Addiquit’s combination of rapid-fire, feisty cadence and airy voice make her an anomaly in the Hip-Hop scene.”
“Her skills have developed enough to earn props in the blogosphere and nominations for San Diego Music Awards for Best Hip-Hop in 2007 and 2008.”
“More electro than hip-hop, Addiquit is living proof that underground rappers aren’t just a myth…she raps over thick electro beats with all the vigour and finesse of Lil’ Kim or Lauryn Hill.”
Her debut album will drop this summer and we at GENERATION BASS just cannot wait. We will bring you some updates on that before it drops including some downloads of her earlier works. So keep your eyes peeled for this.
In the meantime you can download her BRILLIANT SCARECROW N CRIMINAL MIXTAPE RIGHT HERE!
